This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the Swap mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “App”).

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions

Communications: messages exchanged with other users and support requests.

When you use the App, we automatically collect:

Device and connection data: device model, OS, app version, IP address, and network identifiers.

Usage data: features used, interactions (swipes, likes, matches), session time, and crash logs.

Location data: approximate location based on your device settings or IP address, used for discovering nearby items and meeting spots.

2.3 Information from Third Parties
Login providers: if you register via Google, Apple, or other sign-in methods, we receive your name, email, and profile image.
Analytics and safety tools: we may receive aggregated data from analytics providers, security services, and ad-attribution platforms (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase).
2.4 Sensitive Categories

We do not request or intentionally collect sensitive data such as religion, political views, or health information.

We strictly prohibit any Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) or Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Any such content is removed, accounts are terminated, and reports are made to relevant authorities.


3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

Account management: creating, maintaining, and verifying your account.

App functionality: displaying items, managing matches, enabling chat, and operating recommendations.

Safety and integrity: detecting fraud, scams, underage use, or policy violations.

Limited profile details (e.g., name, username, meeting spot) are visible to other users.
When you list or match on an item, relevant information (photos, descriptions) is shared with the matched party.

We use vetted third-party vendors under strict confidentiality to help operate Swap, including:

Cloud hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud, Firebase)

Analytics and crash monitoring

Email delivery and messaging

All service providers are bound by data processing agreements.

Law enforcement, regulators, or competent authorities if required by law.

5. Data Retention
Account data: retained while your account is active.
Deleted accounts: basic logs and backups may be retained for up to 180 days for safety, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
Messages: remain visible to other users you interacted with, even after deletion.
Reports and legal data: may be retained longer as required by law.

After the retention period, your data is securely deleted or anonymized.


6. Data Security

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).

Encrypted storage of sensitive fields (e.g., passwords via hashing).

Access controls and limited employee data access.

Regular audits, monitoring, and vulnerability management.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security. You use the App at your own risk.

Swap operates from Egypt with servers and service providers located in multiple countries.

Swap is not intended for anyone under 18.

We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Swap cooperates with law enforcement when legally required or when safety is at risk.
